Are you as excited as I am to begin to see the signs of spring with the longer days and birds singing in the morning? I'm not even complaining about the dirty snow piles adorning our roadways!
And as I flipped the calendar to March, I thought it was time to let you know about some upcoming events so that you can mark your calendar.
First the events related to our Muslim Ministry outreach:
- March 6, Saturday, 9:30 - 11:30, M209. We will have the privilege of hearing Sherry Mohamed, a convert from the Islam faith, who ministers to Muslims in the Twin Cities. She will share experiences and wisdom from her own background and her ministry. You'll have a chance to ask Sherry questions and learn about our initial efforts to reach out to the Somali community in Eden Prairie. There'll also be a brain-storming session where you can share your ideas about outreach opportunities. There's no registration required. We'd love to see you there.
- March 14, Sunday, 12:30 - 2 PM, M152. This will be the first of the 6 classes of "Bridges: Christians Connecting with Muslims" designed to give you the background information and insights that is vital as you build bridges to Muslims. There is a $10 charge for the study book that goes with the video presentation. Registration is available online at www.atgrace.com/events under Muslim Ministry Training and is open to both men and women.
- March 20, Saturday, 9 AM to 3 PM, M209. This is a one-day class that will incorporate all the material from the 6 Bridges sessions into one day. The Eden Prairie Garden Show will be here during that same time so the Divine Grind will be open during our lunch break. There is no pre-registration for the class, the cost is $10 and you can contact me with any questions: 952-224-3118.
- June 16-21, Missions outreach trip to Dearborn, Michigan. We'll join with Josh McDowell and his team during the Arab International Festival. Here's a fantastic opportunity to be part of a group of 60 people who will receive training from Josh McDowell Ministries and a kind of "cultural immersion" into the those of Muslim background as you join the Festival. The above "Bridges" training is a prerequisite to the training in Dearborn. You can call me with questions on this too.
And our other Women's Ministry opportunities:
- April 27, Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:30, Divine Grind. Have you and your friends always wanted to know more about our Bible studies but didn't know who to ask? This year our Bible study brunch that concludes our year's studies will be open to everyone . You'll join women from the studies to hear how they have been touched by God during their weeks in the Word, learn about the studies that will be available next fall and meet the teachers/ facilitators. The cost for those who have not been in the studies is $8. Click here to register.
- June 9, Wednesday, 9:30 to 11 AM and 7 to 8:30 PM. This will be the first session of our summer Bible studies. We will be offering "One In a Million", a Priscilla Shirer study, and Peacemaking for Women, a study of Biblical conflict resolution both morning and evening. We're also planning on offering an abreviated Titus 2 Discipleship study in the mornings. The Summer GraceVine, available May 23, will have all the details for registraion.
- August 14, Saturday, time to be determined....for those who really like to plan ahead!! Our Annual Day with the King, the women's one-day Prayer Summit, will again be a wonderful conclusion to our summer and a kick-off for our fall ministries. Alice Moss will be here to minister to us as she facilitates on Saturday and offer us another Evening with Alice, Wednesday, August 11. More information will be in the Summer GraceVine too.
Whew! Thanks for taking the time to look over these opportunities. Looking forward to enjoying one or more of them with you!
Be blessed today,
Sue
