Another Ride Brings a Bus Driver to the Kingdom!
Dave Gibson started a conversation with his bus driver, Guillermo, while on the way home from the Festival Dedication. As he was chatting with the bus driver, he asked Rob Wassenaar to tell Guillermo how God has worked in Rob's life.
Rob shared the story of how in high school his grandfather died and he started thinking about heaven and hell more in-depth. He had friends that took him to a Bible study and told him his sins separated him from God. Rob explained to Guillermo about God's forgiveness and what it meant to be separated from God's love. As Rob was explaining this, Guillermo's face became more serious. Through Rob and the clarity in the translation by Rick Nelson, Guillermo accepted the greatest gift from God!
Helping the Least of These
Janna Collins didn't know how the Lord would or could use her on this trip, she only knew that she wanted to go and be available however God chose to use her, not to her agenda but only His. She embraced the idea of "rigid flexibility" and started looking and asking for his direction. So when the Lord placed her on a flight with a crying little girl and a sad little boy seated nearby, Janna got right to work on her first assignment: those kids were traveling alone.
This was no coincidence. You see, her little girl who is the same age, spends a lot of time crying too. So she is well versed in the art of distraction. And having a little boy the same age came in handy too as she tried to relate to this little guy. Before long they were joking around and the tears had turned to smiles as she was showing them her cool "magic trick" with the rope and beads. They got to hear the story again with the evangecube, which they thought was cool. They already knew the story, in fact the little girl had a Bible along with her on the trip. But as she said, "I love to hear the story of Jesus again." Janna was so blessed to be able to use these tools to encourage these kids with Jesus loves them. It took their mind off their sadness and helped to remind them that Jesus will be with them in their uncertain future. She also told them that she would be praying for them.
This experience reminded Janna that we are not only here to win souls for the Lord, but to encourage the brothers and sisters in Christ that we meet.
